Dorset Police Officers To Take Strike Action

Published at 7:33am 16th December 2014.

Dorset Police are promising they'll still be able to maintain an effective service when officers go out on strike on Monday. (22 December)

Unison members are taking part in a 24 hour walk out over pay.

They include 999 call handlers, PCSO's and scenes of crime officers.

Earlier this year they asked for a 3% pay rise.  They were offered 1% which they say is just not acceptable.

Dorset Police have told Wessex FM it's a legitimate right of their staff to strike, contingency plans are in place and the strike will have no impact on operational front line deployments.

Monday's walk out will be followed by four weeks of short strike action from the 5th of January next year.
