20ft Christmas Tree Up For Auction

8:15am 16th December 2014

How big do you like your Christmas tree? 5 ft? 10 ft? Well a school in Maiden Newton is putting their gigantic 20 ft tree up for auction.

Greenford Primary School is looking for a new home for their festive tree to raise funds for the school.

They're breaking up this Friday, 19th December and want somebody to make the most of the tree during the main Christmas period.

Head Teacher, Franz Atkinson said: "We thought of the idea of selling our cut tree to raise funds because it will be redundant a full five days before Christmas day."

"Therefore, we wanted to offer it for sale to bring smiles to faces, a little bit of goodwill and perhaps some money to our primary school."

The buyer will need to collect the tree themselves but help will be available at the site and the auction ends tonight (16th December) at 8:25pm.
