£5,000 Donated To Children's Hospice After Lights Theft

Julias House new Christmas lights 1

Published at 9:39am 18th December 2014.

After news broke on Wessex FM that heatless thieves stole Christmas lights from Dorset's Children's Hospice, donations have been flooding in and the charity has now received £5,000.

One extremely generous person has made an anonymous donation of £1,000 to Julia's House while another £100 was handed in by a passer-by who was going to spend the money on repairing his car.

One lady even pitched up with cakes for the care team.

Hospice lead nurse Louise McKenna told Wessex FM: "The response has been truly fantastic. The overwhelming kindness of people with all the donations and messages of support has really lifted the spirits of everyone at the hospice."

"We can't thank people enough for supporting us in this special way. The new lights look wonderful."
