Dorset Knitters Raise £ 2,000 For Royal British Legion

A massive effort from over a Dorset hundred knitters have helped to raise nearly £2,000 for the Royal British Legion.

Lets Make It Community group had a record-breaking year in their final fundraiser making knitted poppies.

South Dorset MP Richard Drax helped present the cheque to the Legion and he says our armed forces need this kind of help now more than ever.

He told Wessex FM: "Afghanistan and Iraq others has sadly lead to many people being severely injured. Obviously does a hugely important job to make sure our men and women are looked after the best they can."
