Give The Gift Of Life This Christmas

Published at 9:10am 24th December 2014.

During this time of giving, staff at Dorset County Hospital asked us to think about giving the gift of organ donation when they switched on their Christmas tree lights.

Three people die every day in the UK while waiting for an organ transplant and by donating your organs after you die, you will help change that.

DCH Clinical Lead for Critical Care and organ donation lead Dr Andrew Ball said: "It is possible that any of us may be in a position to help others after our death through the gift of organ donation.

"We would like you to consider discussing this with your family and loved ones and if appropriate joining the organ donation register. Make a choice and make it known."

They are also advising us to let the rest of your family know what you've decided now, as that makes it much easier for them to support your decision to be a donor.
