Man Resuced From Beneath Westham Bridge

Specialist Fire Crews eventually removed the 25 year old man from the water before he was taken to hospital suffereing from hypothermia

A 25 year old man's been helped to safety after being discovered in the water at Westham Bridge, in Weymouth's Radipole Lake.

Coastguards have told Wessex FM police and ambulance asked for their help as they believed the man had been in the water for about an hour in the early hours of new years day morning.

He was refusing to get out of the water. Wyke Regis Coastguard and the Weymouth Inshore Lifeboat went to the scene

A specialist Dorset Fire and Rescue  technical unit eventually entered the water to remove the man to safety...he was given treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia.

POLICE, ambulance, coastguard and firefighters were all involved in a New Year’s Day water rescue.
