An electrical fault's thought to be the cause of the blaze close to Woodlands Farm, Askerswell


Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Control Room received numerous 999 calls from motorists on the A35 at Askerswell reporting a car on fire near to Woodlands Farm at about 7.05pm(Friday2nd January)

Retained Firefighters from Bridport Fire Station attended the scene and found a Toyota Celica well alight on their arrival.  Firefighters closed the main A35 due to the blaze and deployed 2 sets of Breathing Apparatus and 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire was believed to be due to an electrical fault.  The vehicle was 100% destroyed by fire.
