Four Cows Die In Barn Fire

Four cows have died following a barn fire at a farm in Martinstown in the early hours of Sunday morning. (11 January)

The bull calf and three heifers suffered smoke inhalation after a faulty heat lamp set bales of hay on fire.

Firefighters were called out at around 5.30am and the farmer had moved the 12 bales that were on fire out of the barn by the time crews arrived.
