Dorset Agent Predicts Strong Property Market In 2015

DOMVS are predicting a strong housing market in 2015 if early signs are to be believed.

The Dorset estate agents claim the market is looking healthier than it has for years, with more first time buyers than at any time since 2007. Early signs are of sustained activity, backed up by increased confidence in the economy and higher employment across the UK.

However they temper this with a warning saying that in 2014 the Scottish referendum had a negative effect on the market. This situation could happen again in the spring of 2015 with the general election looming up.

Said Polly Greenway of DOMVS, "We believe buyers and sellers will come into the market early in the New Year. Certainly there are the clear signs already.

Towards the upper end of the market there will be many with strong and very valid concerns about the introduction of a mansion tax - on top of the added stamp duty imposed by the chancellor in his autumn statement.

For those selling in and around the £2 million mark the market will be highly sensitive and pricing below this point may be advisable if a quick sale is required. Realistic pricing is required.

There's little doubt that for some this will be a period of great opportunity in the property market.
