Age UK in Dorchester are celebrating the King of Rock'n'Roll today to mark what would have been his 80th birthday last week.

Whether he was wooing the ladies in his leather jacket in his younger days or wearing tassels and sparkling jump suits while belting out classics like Suspicious Minds in the 70's; the king of rock and roll is still very much alive in our hearts.

Age UK Dorchester are holding a special Elvis Day today (14 January) to commemorate the fact Elvis Presley would have been celebrating his 80th birthday this year, which was on the 8th January.

They're putting on a exhibition on Elvis' memorabilia from 10am to 11:30am before showing his most popular film 'Blue Hawaii' at Evergreen Cinema from 1:45pm.

Organiser Margaret Wellspring said: "Age UK Dorchester doesn't just cater for the older members of our community. Many of today's retired people were Elvis fans in their youth, and a day like this is something that they would find interesting and entertaining."

"We would love to see all those Elvis fans come along and have a wonderful time, and in doing so, support their local charity."

Age UK Dorchester's centre is on the Prince of Wales Road.
