Buckham Fair To Support Dorset's Children's Hospice

Martin Clunes

10:25am 14th January 2015

Julia's House has been chosen as the charity to benefit from this year's Buckham Fair, the country show hosted annually by actor Martin Clunes and his wife Philippa at their  Beaminster farm.

The fair, which will be held on August 23rd, is a wonderful family event featuring a traditional fun fair, craft and trade stalls, a food court selling local produce, and a very popular pony and dog show. An added attraction is the presence of Martin Clunes himself.

Martin Edwards, chief executive of the children's hospice charity,  said: "We are delighted that Buckham Fair is once again supporting us. A big thank you to the committee and, of course, Martin Clunes, who has been a long-standing champion and valued patron of Julia's House.

"His support for what we are trying to achieve for families of life-limited children in Dorset - and now Wiltshire - has been enormous in helping influence and engage the community. Without the fundraising of local people and businesses Julia's House would not be able to provide its vital respite and end of life care."

Julia's House Community Fundraising manager Lin Hudswell, told Wessex FM the money raised from the event will directly go towards providing respite and end of life care of seriously ill children who are not expected to live into adulthood.
