Time To Talk About Mental Health

Wessex FM Sponsor

7:03am 21st January 2015
(Updated 7:10am 21st January 2015)

We're being asked to take five minutes from our day to talk about an issue that affects thousands of people in Dorset.

5th February is Time To Talk Day which is a national campaign being organised by Time To Change that's fighting the stigma around mental illness.

Rosie Barfoot is from The Phoenix Legacy in Dorchester which helps keep people mentally active and she said mental health issues can be a slippery slope.

She told Wessex FM: "I know from my own personal experience how easy it is to go into mental depression and it can be a long time coming out of it."

"People are afraid to talk about, which has an impact on the person and their families."
