Business News: Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership Announces New Deputy Chair

The Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has appointed Board member Jitinder Takhar as its new Deputy Chair of the LEP Board.

The Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has appointed Board member Jitinder Takhar as its new Deputy Chair of the LEP Board. 

With over twenty years’ experience in the social housing sector, Ms Takhar is the Group Director of Development at Spectrum Housing Group, where she leads on development of both market and affordable homes, whilst also managing the commercial student company, Signpost Homes Limited. She also leads the housing sub-group of the Dorset LEP, working closely with representatives from the public and private sectors.

Ms Takhar said: “I am delighted to be appointed the Deputy Chair of the Dorset LEP. I very much look forward to both continuing and highlighting the brilliant work our LEP does to drive economic growth, support and improve housing services in Dorset, and create more jobs in our great county”.

As the former Business Development Director at Western Challenge, Ms Takhar led the team through four successful bid rounds, working as Lead Partner with the Wessex Development Consortium, now the Source Development Partnership.

Speaking about the appointment, Dorset LEP Chairman Gordon Page said:

“I’d like to congratulate Jitinder and wish her every success in her new role. As Deputy Chair, she will be instrumental in supporting and driving the Dorset LEP Board in its strategic planning and implementation, and in turn support myself in heading this great organisation.”
