Top chefs are set to appear at the Dorset Food and Arts Festival in Dorchester this August.

TV cook Lesley Waters will be giving demonstrations in the Dorset Farmers Market Mobile Kitchen at the event in Queen Mother Square in Poundbury.

The festival on the 1st August is aimed at celebrating Dorset food and drink producers, as well as local musicians and the creative arts.

There will be around 50 stalls featuring some of Dorset's finest food and drink producers and demonstrations by top chefs, including Mark Hartstone from La Fosse at Cranborne and Luke Stuart of White Pepper Cookery School. There will also be a return of the popular chefs cook-off with Matt Budden of the Highcliff Grill, James Golding of The Pig and Brett Sutton of The White Post.

Other highlights of the day will include a return to the Poundbury stage for the North Dorset soprano Charlotte Hewett, and a concert in the evening by the Mill Street Jazz Band.

There will be street entertainment arranged by Artsreach and children's activities including Dorset Forest Schools.

Organisers have handed over a cheque for £3,000 to Weldmar from the proceeds from last year's event.

Katie Slade, Events Fundraiser for Weldmar, said "Once again, we are delighted to be the charity partner for the Dorset Festival and we very much look forward to the 2015 Festival. The funds raised will help Weldmar to continue to deliver our service for free to our patients and their families across Dorset".
