Weymouth Mum Speaks Out To Save Special Care Baby Unit

The Weymouth mother of a baby born 5 weeks premature is adding her voice to the campaign to protect the children's ward at Dorset County Hospital.

Shauna Monks' daughter Molly is now 6.

She says she made a full recovery thanks to the hard working staff at DCH.

But Shauna told Wessex FM it would have been really hard for her family if that service hadn't have been in Dorchester.

"The father of my children came up every day to spend the day with us.  If it was further away it would have been impossible for him to do that with work.  And if you have other children to take care of, it would be almost impossible for the other parent to be involved and for you to get up there yourself, especially if you can't drive."

She's hoping for a good turn out on Saturday;

"I think it's important that everybody in the community can show their support and that we are all stood together on this.  It's not something the public want and I think it's awful to do this to the community.  Me and my girls will both be there on Saturday."
