Spate Of Burglaries Across Dorchester

Over the past two weeks premises have been attacked and in one road, nmber plates removed from cars

Police are investigating a series of burglaries across Dorchester.

An offender forced the lock on a wooden shed on the Poundbury Business Centre, Middle Farm Way, Poundbury between 7.00pm on Wednesday 9th and 6.30am on Thursday 10th September. A search was made but it looks like nothing was stolen.

Registration numbers were stolen from a Renault Clio, Vauxhall Vectra and Toyota MR2 that were parked in Blagdon Road during the night of the 12th and 13th September.

Two further burglaries were committed during the night of Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September on the Grove Trading Estate. On both occasions a forced entry was made to gain entry to the businesses. It appears that amongst items stolen was a charity box and Dorchester Police would like to recover this box at the earliest possible time.

At approximately 2.00am on Friday 12th September an attempt was made to break into a garage in Victoria Road. The offender tried to force the locks on the garage door but failed to gain entry.

Thieves broke into a garage in Damers Road between 9.00am on the 5th and 1.30pm on the 12th September and then stole a motor cycle, garden tools and other tools.

A compressor was stolen by thieves who broke into a shed in Poundbury Crescent, Dorchester between 3.00pm on Sunday 13th September and 7.30am on Monday 14th September.

But an attempt to break into a commercial unit on the Great Western Industrial Centre  between 2.00am and 2.30am on Friday 12th September. The offender attempted to break an entry through a wall but no entry was gained.
