Upgraded Status For Lawrence Of Arabia's Cottage

The Department for Culture Media and Sport say TE Lawrence's cottage, managed by the National Trust, has been raised to Grade 2* to preserve the diplomat's legacy. Lawrence, who mobilised the Arab revolt during WW1, lived there from 1923 till his death in 1935. Heritage minister Tracey Couch says the extra protection will preserve the building and TE Lawrence's extraordinary legacy for years to come.

Lawrence of Arabia's former home at Clouds Hill's had its grade 2 listed status upgraded.

The Department for Culture Media and Sport say TE Lawrence's cottage, now managed by the National Trust, has been raised to Grade 2* in a bid to preserve the diplomat's legacy.

Lawrence, who mobilised the Arab revolt during WW1, lived there from 1923 till his death in 1935.
