Can You Help A Portland Martial Arts Expert Follow His Dream?

Darren Anstey

11:38am 14th March 2016

A Portland martial arts world champion is looking for sponsorship to help follow his dream of turning professional.

Darren Anstey already holds British and European titles in Muay Thai.

The Dad of two who trains at King Tiger Gym is appealing to local businesses for help.

Darren told Wessex FM:

"The struggles I am facing is fitting my daily training regime in around my new job of being trainer at King Tiger Martial Arts (taking over running the classes I have been attending for many years due to my old trainer being too unwell to continue)."

"I am also a Dad to my two children who live with me full time and  have also had to recently find a new trainer due to the very sad news last year that my trainer was having to retire due to being terminally ill."

"As you may guess accomplished Muay Thai trainers are not in abundance in Weymouth which means I am going to have to travel to train (an expense in itself) and also have to pay for a trainer."

"One of the ways I manage to keep my head above water with the costs of training and childcare is with the support of fight-by-fight sponsors; but with the additional cost of paying for a trainer (on top of normal outgoings for my family) there is no way I can find this money to continue my training which is what my enquiry is regarding."

You can find out more about Darren on his Facebook Page.
