Billy Bragg Joins March To Save Services At Dorset County

Save Our Wards March 2

Published at 7:06am 19th September 2016.

Hundreds of people have marched through Dorchester, fighting to save children's and maternity services at Dorset County Hospital.

They chanted and waved placards, making their views known to the Clinical Commissioning Group on Saturday afternoon.

It's the third time such a march has taken place.

Campaigner Naomi Patterson told Wessex FM she's delighted at the huge turnout:

"I am absolutely overwhelmed with the attendance. It shows the strong feeling is still there towards these proposals. Hopefully the CCG will look at this and realise we are not going away and that we are still here and we will keep fighting to the end."

Dorset Singer Billy Bragg showed his support by taking part in the march.

"Having a seriously ill child in the middle of the night is the one of the most frightening experiences a parent can have. Knowing that the kingfisher is here and available locally - that's why so many people are out here marching today."
