The Manager of the Weymouth BID says its been a good summer for hoteliers, guest houses and local businesses.

It's been a very good summer for Weymouth.

The declarations' come from the resort's BID manager, Nigel Reed as autumn approaches.

He's been telling Wessex FM that hoteliers, guest houses and local businesses have been reporting a busy few months, with a rise in holidaymakers choosing STAY-CATIONS.

He says it bodes well for the future: "It certainly looks that the hard work is certainly paying off for everyone. Speaking to people, it's interesting to realise that if you have a good summer, then Weymouth is very well known for its repeat business. So it looks promising for 2017."

Weymouth BID is welcoming the prospect of an all-weather leisure attraction being built on the Pavilion peninsula site.

The council's management committee will learn more about the proposals tomorrow.

They're reported to include leisure units, restaurants, a hotel and parking.
