Renewed Appeals For Missing Dorset Woman

Isobel Munro, 22 April 2016

11:59am 26th September 2016

Police investigating the disappearance of Christchurch woman Isobel Munro are renewing their appeal for information today, on her 42nd birthday.

Isobel was last seen by her mother on Monday 11 April 2016 when she left her home in Latimers Close in a taxi. She was reported missing on Monday 18 April.

Isobel has learning difficulties and is profoundly deaf so wears a hearing aid and lip reads.

As a result of ongoing investigations, police officers were joined by volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue on Sunday 15 May 2016 to search a wooded area between The Globe public house on Lymington Road and Chewton Common Road. Unfortunately nothing was found.

Eastern Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Yeoman said: "It has been over five months since Isobel was seen and we remain very concerned for her.

"Today Isobel turns 42 and I would again appeal to the public to contact Dorset Police if they have any information as to her whereabouts, either after she went missing or now.

"No matter how small you think the information may be, we would urge you to contact us so we can assess whether it is important or relevant."

Isobel is described as white, five feet six inches tall and of medium build. She wears glasses and has mousey brown curly hair in the style of a bob.

Isobel's brother Mark Munro said: "The last five months have been very difficult for our family and we are desperate to find out what has happened to Isobel and where she may be.

"We would urge anyone who has any information to come forward and help us.

"Finally, if Isobel sees this appeal, I would like to encourage her to pick up the phone and let us know she is safe. We are here to help you."

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Isobel's whereabouts should contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55160060585. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
