7:26am 27th September 2016

Dorset Farmer's Market has a new logo, thanks to an 8-year-old girl from Pulham.

Maisie won a competition open to all youngsters across the county to design a new look for the company.

Judges picked her design it represents rural Dorset which they say is at the heart of buying local food and drink.

The logo will feature on their new Bags for Life and will be used on all promotional material for farmers markets across the county.

The four runners-up, who also included elements of the winning design in their designs, were Emily, aged 10 from Maiden Newton, Joe aged 6, Lucy, aged 9 and Michael, aged 11 from Buckland Newton - a great big 'thank you' to them and to all the other children who entered the competition.  The winner and runners up received Waitrose/John Lewis and Waterstones vouchers, kindly presented to them by Jeremy Board, Manager of Waitrose and sponsors of the prize vouchers, at the recent Dorset Food and Arts Festival in Poundbury.

Dorset Farmers' Markets are a not-for-profit organisation run voluntarily by the producers for the producers and each week organise a farmers' market somewhere in the County - monthly markets are held in Poundbury, Shaftesbury, Blandford, Bridport, Sherborne, Wimborne and Dorchester town centre and at this time of the year Dorset Farmers' Markets producers can be seen too at all the various Festivals and Shows offering a fantastic range of food and drink.
