Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was found with serious head injuries in Weymouth.

The man aged in his 40s was found lying next to a bicycle in Upway Street, off King Street, at around 6.30pm on Wednesday 15 March 2017.

An ambulance attended and the man was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment to serious injuries to his head.

He has been in hospital for several days and has been unable to clearly recollect how he came to be injured.

Officers are now appealing to members of the public for their help as they investigate what happened to the man.

A 23-year-old man from Kent, a 22-year-old man from London and a 20 year-old woman from London have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They have been released on police bail until the middle of May.

Detective Sergeant Simon Austin, of Weymouth CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly how the man sustained his injuries.

“I believe there will have been a number of people in the area at the time and I am appealing for anyone who has seen anything, or who has any information about how the man came to be injured, to please contact Dorset Police.”
