Light up the Night at Lodmoor Country Park

Dorset Neon Run fun3

9:07am 8th June 2017

Lodmoor Country Park will be alive with of colour and lights on Saturday 23rd September as part of the Dorset Neon in aid of Diverse Abilities, a Dorset charity that supports children and adults living with disabilities.

Those that sign up can walk, run, dance or skip around the 5k route and will be provided with glow sticks, bracelets and neon paint to help light up the night and glow as they go.

The Dorset Neon Run is open to anyone over the age of 12 and participants will also receive a branded event t-shirt with their neon bling.

On the night, there will be music with a DJ on stage as participants register (from 6:30pm), followed by a warm up with Weymouth clubbercise instructor Leah, before setting off along the 5k route.

Ashley Weedon, fundraising manager at Diverse Abilities, said: "Following the extremely successful Dorset Neon Run in Poole Park, we are very excited for our first one to take place in Lodmoor Country Park. We are encouraging local people to sign up, grab their headtorches and neon bling to light up the night while supporting many children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset. It doesn't matter if you're not a runner, the aim is to have fun and go at your own speed - and if that means walking that's good with us!

"It is going to be a really fun event with plenty of food stands and refreshments for runners and supporters alike, so please do bring all your friends and family along for a fantastic evening."

Registration for the event is £15 if booking before 23 July and £20 thereafter. To take part in the Dorset Neon Run or learn more about the evening, please visitwww.dorsetneonrun.com.
