Dorchester Rugby Club launch charity tug of war competition

1:44pm 11th August 2017

If you like Tug of War, then Dorchester Rugby Club on Saturday 26th August is the place to be.

The club, in association with Jurassic Coast Raptors AFC, will be holding a competition open to anyone - all you need to do is form a team of eight.

However, the day isn't just about the Tug of War, as there will be plenty of alternative entertainment for the whole family.

Thanks to the Raptors, there will be a chance to have a go at American football with a punt, pass and kick competition.

Meanwhile the RFU-run Inner Warrior competition will give ladies and girls a chance to try some rugby too.

There is loads more too, including a 115 foot inflatable obstacle course, skittle alleys and children's bouncy castles.

The day won't be short on food either - there will be a hog roast, BBQ and pizzas for those who feel a little peckish, with a cider and ale tent as well.

What's more, all this will be followed by live music in the evening from Regulation 9, Nina Garcia and Toby de Kretser.

Bill Heinrich from Dorchester Rugby said:

"It's an opportunity for lots of people to get together and have a bit of fun, it's going to be quite an event!"
