30 years of Dorchester Beerex

palmers beerex 30th year

9:03am 21st November 2017

Dorchester Beerex is celebrating 30 years next year.

The two-day event will be held on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd February at the Dorchester Corn Exchange.

The popular charity festival has raised £150K for local good causes. This year's main benefactor will be at the Dorchester Social Stroke Club who give vital support to stroke victims to help with their recovery.

Dorchester Beerex's committee is made up of representatives from West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale and Dorchester Round Table.

Palmers brewery in Bridport is proud to sponsor the event for the fourth consecutive year. Marketing director, Cleeves Palmer, said: "Palmers Brewery is delighted to be the main sponsor of Dorchester Beerex again in 2018. It is a tremendous coming together of real ale enthusiasts and it is a great opportunity for them to try all the different ales that are on offer these days. My congratulations to the Beerex team on their thirtieth Birthday, here is to the next 30 years!"

Lee Turner from Round Table and the chairman of the 2018 Beerex committee said: "I'm honoured to be given the chance to chair the 30th year's festival as it's such a landmark in our history and worth celebrating. I expect to see lots of old festival regulars and hopefully meet many new customers."

The organisers are creating more seating area for customers, with a new bar layout in the Corn Exchange and the use of the town hall upstairs. They are also looking to maximise the drinking space whilst still promoting over 80 different "Real Ales and Ciders" from all over the UK.

Tickets are aiming to go on sale from December 4th onwards and will make a great stocking filler this Christmas. There are four sessions and priced at £10 each including 3 half pints of beer, souvenir glass and programme.

Outlets in Dorchester are at Goldie's and The Baker Arms. In Poundbury it's The Brace of Butchers pub and in Weymouth, The Boot.
