Weymouth attack leaves man needing surgery

A man's needed surgery to his leg after being set upon in Weymouth town centre.
The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday 21outside The Rum Shack in Maiden Street.

The victim is a local man in his 40s.

Detective Constable Jacqui Gravenor, of Weymouth CID, said:

"We are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any further information to please come forward.

"We have been carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries and investigations are ongoing."
