Figures show that companies which employ people with special needs or a disability can have increased staff retention and reduced absenteeism.

The 'Enable Employment' event is being held this Thursday 15th March, 2018.

Business leaders and employers from around the county are invited from 3pm - 4.30pm.

Cllr Christine James, Briefholder for Social Inclusion, said: "We want this unique event to appeal to businesses as well as young people and adults with SEND. For young people, it's a chance to talk to individuals who can offer information, advice and support."

Cllr Deborah Croney, Cabinet Member for Economy, Education, Learning and Skills at Dorset County Council, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young people and adults with special needs or a health condition, as well as for employers who want to attract a more diverse workforce. Learning how to become a disability confident employer could help their people achieve their potential and contribute fully to the business's success and will certainly contribute to Dorset's growing economy."

James Pidgeon, Business Development Manager: 'Weymouth Job Centre is pleased to provide the services and facilities for people and employers to explore the wealth of opportunities of those with health conditions. This event will showcase what they can offer the work place which will help to provide sustainable employment for the future.'

'Want to go along?'
