dishwasher fire dorchester

10:30am 21st June 2018

A smoke alarm has helped save a life in Dorchester.

A fire broke out at a house in Olga Road this morning (21st June), while the resident was asleep.

They were woken up by their smoke alarm.

Their neighbours used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire which was caused by a dishwasher.

Two crews, one for Dorchester and one from Weymouth attended.

They removed the dishwasher and made sure the fire hadn't spread to any other parts of the house.

There was minimal damage to the property.
