A woman's shaved all of her hair off in LONDIS in Westham Road in Weymouth.

Rebekka Pritchard 'Braved the shave' to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of her grandfather. So far, she's raised £415.36.

And, she's not stopping there. She's also donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for young people who have lost their hair to cancer.

Not only did she shave her head to raise the money, but she also let people entering the shop give it a go themselves. A number of her colleagues got involved in the shaving off individual ponytails.

Rebekka says: “Two years ago he [her grandfather] got diagnosed with bone cancer and then a year and a half ago he sadly passed away because of it.

“I’m just so grateful for the support they give people with cancer”

She said she initially saw an advert for ‘Brave the shave’ on TV and thought it was a great way to support Macmillan.

“Amazing and free”

“My head’s a little bit cold.”

Bone Cancer

In 2016, bone cancer (otherwise known as bone sarcoma) killed 360 people and in 2014 there were around 2 new cases of the condition per day. (Statistics from Cancer Research UK)
