Nothe Fort promising scares for Halloween!

Lost Tunnel Nothe

8:01am 23rd September 2018

This Halloween Weymouth's Nothe Fort will be hosting a chilling charity fundraiser.

'Nothe of the living dead' will plunge participants into an immersive zombie experience to escape the tunnels beneath the fort.

They are currently looking for volunteers for on-site crew as well as actors to be zombies and other characters in the event.

Nothe Fort is one of the most haunted sites in the UK. The ticketed event takes place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October, between 7pm - 1am, and is a collaboration between local charities, the Nothe Fort and Island Community Action (ICA), and Bored 2 Board Gaming (B2B).

Steven Booth, Marketing Manager of Nothe Fort, said:

"With a history of paranormal activity and a labyrinth of spooky underground passageways, Nothe Fort is the perfect venue for an event like this - even more so on Halloween, when we can pull out all the stops to deliver a truly terrifying cocktail of horror, exhiliration and fun."

Bored 2 Board Gaming has created a backstory for the event that involves a series of chemical weapons tests off Portland Bill that infect local seagulls with a deadly virus. The infected gulls, now ravenous and out of control, attack 'Patient X', passing on the virus and turning him into zombie.

Emma Mason, B2B Director, said:

"'Patient X' is just the start of it. Within day the whole area is wall-to-wall walking dead, with only one chance for local survivors to escape - through the Nothe's web of tunnels."

Survivors of this new apocalypse must battle their way through the tunnels, now infested with flesh-eating zombies. Along the way, each survivor must overcome a series of challenges that will enable them to collect the 'essential survival kit' required to gain access to the rescue teams waiting at the tunnel's end.

Anyone who volunteers to help out at the event will receive a thank you goody bag and be well fed and watered during the event. They will also receive training and instruction in the role of their choice, with a variety of shifts available across the two evenings (as well as a rehearsal on Saturday 13th October).
