The family of a young Weymouth man who's seriously ill in hospital in London are thanking the local community for their support.

23-year-old Joshua Bailey is on life support after a virus has left him with liver and heart failure.

The family have been raising funds to keep his mum and sister at his bedside.

Joshua's mother Elaine Hoskins and sister, Yasmin Bailey are staying with him in London. They’ve set up a justgiving page to support their accommodation, which they’ll only be able to stay in until Friday.

Stephen Lewis is Joshua's brother-in-law he says it’s too expensive to keep using hotels, but it’s important that the family are there by his side.

“He just keeps asking for his mum and his sister.

“When he doesn’t see her, he says ‘Yas, I need to see you.’”

"Joshua is still very ill. The hospital has taken Joshua off some of the drugs and he is stable. At the moment there is currently no news to say how long he will be in London and again his sister Yasmin and mother Elaine have not left his side."

The family tried getting accommodation with various charities in London but all have been fully booked so far.

You can find the family’s just giving page here.

Joshua is stable now but his liver isn't improving at the moment. Joshuas heart has improved as the hospital has turn down the pump to allow his heart to do some work and so far so good.
