Purse theft in Dorchester

A man has come forward following an appeal in relation to a reported purse theft in Dorchester.

An 80-year-old woman had her purse stolen while shopping in the town centre.

Her bank card was allegedly used for a transaction at the Co-Op store in Trinity Street.

Following a public appeal, a 22-year-old man from Oxfordshire has contacted police.

He is assisting officers with their investigation and is not being treated as a suspect.

No arrests have been made.
