Increase in anti-social behaviour involving young people in Weymouth

police stop and search

Published at 7:13am 9th November 2018.

Do you know where you children are?

That's the question which police in Weymouth and Portland are asking parents.

They say there's been a rise in anti social behaviour in the last few weeks around the town centre, The Marsh and the shops in Littlemoor.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Parents or guardians of those involved will be visited by Neighbourhood Team officers to discuss the behaviour of the individual. Details will be passed to ASB caseworkers within the Dorset Council Partnerships Community Safety Team. If a young person repeatedly comes to light a tiered approach will be taken to address their behaviour."

"Officers from the Neighbourhood Team will be conducting regular patrols of the areas affected and where necessary will return young people to their home address or will contact their parents or guardians so that they collect them."

'What to do if you see anti social behaviour'

Please report any incidents of anti-social behaviour to Dorset Police by calling 101 or email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk
