Weymouth & Portland's 2019 Festivals and Events programme has launched.

As well as many seasonal favourites, this year's programme features a range of new activities including the borough's first gay pride festival in the summer and the 100th anniversary of Weymouth Lifeboat.

As always, the programme is bursting with an abundance of community fetes, sailing championships, live music, arts and sports events.

Many well-loved events will be returning this year, including Armed Forces Celebrations and the Wessex Folk Festival.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council's Tourism and Culture Brief holder, Councillor Richard Kosior said: "I'd like to encourage residents to spread the word and come and take advantage of this wonderful community-driven festival and events programme which continues to entertain and inspire as well as raise money for a range of charitable causes."

The events are expected to welcome over a million visitors to the area and raise over £300,000 for local and national charities.
