Man held over Weymouth town centre attack released

A man arrested in connection with a reported assault in Weymouth town centre has been released from under investigation and will face no further police action.

It was reported in the early hours of  Friday 1st March a man in his 40s was set upon by two men outside Boots in St Mary Street.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to serious head and facial injuries.

An 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm but, following enquiries by officers, has now been released from under investigation and will face no further police action.
