Woman robbed in Weymouth

Police say she had money 'forcibly' removed from her hand.

Police are investigating a robbery in Weymouth, where a woman had money taken from her hand.

The incident happened at around 12.30am on Sunday 7 April 2019 in St Nicholas Street.


An altercation broke out between the victim - a local woman aged in her 20s - and a man.
Its alleged the offender 'forcibly' removed money from the victim's hand. He then walked off along Lower St Alban Street.

Police say the victim and offender are known to each other.

Police Constable Matthew Love, of Weymouth police, said: "This incident occurred on a Saturday night and I am aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time. I would ask anyone who recalls witnessing this incident, or seeing anything suspicious in the area at the time, to please contact Dorset Police."
