A free test which could help detect prostate cancer is being offered to men in Weymouth next month.

The New-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group are working with Weymouth and Portland Lions Club.

The tests are from men aged between 50 and 79 and will be carried out at the Weymouth Pavilion.

Every year over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. If its caught at an early stage, the chances of a prolonged life or even cure are significantly increased.

'The PSA Test'

The New-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group are offering free PSA testing.

The PSA test is the simple blood test which measures the level of Prostate Specific Antigen protein and it is the most effective method of early diagnosis.

'Book an appointment'

The tests will be carried out on 1st of June at the Pavilion Theatre in Weymouth.
