Paraglider rescued from Eype Beach

A paraglider's been airlifted to hospital with possible back injuries after landing on Eype Beach.

Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulance along with coastguard rescue teams from West Bay and Lyme Regis were scrambled last night.

A spokesman for West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"Once on scene, Coastguard Officers assisted the paramedics and made ready a landing site for the helicopter.

"Once landed, the casualty was transferred to the aircraft and flown to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester for onward care and treatment."
