11-year-old boy arrested after attack on PCSO in Weymouth

A police community support officer has been taken to hospital after being repeatedly punched in the face in Weymouth.

The PCSO was called to Brunswick Terrace last night (Monday 22 July) after reports of an altercation involving a group of people.

He was hit in the face several times and taken to Dorset County Hospital.

An 11-year-old boy from Gloucester was arrested later that evening on suspicion of assaulting an emergency services worker and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A 32-year-old man from Berkshire was also arrested on suspicion of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, criminal damage and racially aggravated abuse.

He is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
