Two stowaways were discovered in the engine compartment of a coach which was returning 85 students plus staff, home from a trip to Disneyland Paris.

One other was found in the wheel arch.

The three were found by search dogs after everyone had got off and headed through passport control.

The stowaways were detained and taken away by customs officers.

Budmouth School's Assistant Principle, Pete Lydford said,

"At no point did any of our students or staff come into contact with the stowaways. There was a slight delay which meant they caught a slighly later ferry and they all arrived safely back at Budmouth just before 1030pm."

"As the link with the senior member team I also kept parents fully updated.

The pupils were never stranded in Calais or anywhere else. All staff had strict protocols in place to account for the students and there were no issues whatsoever during the trip."
