A converted fishing boat got lost in the heavy fog on Sunday morning after it's navigation systems failed.

The vessel was recently purchased from Dover and at some point in the journey, the navigation systems had failed.

A spokeserson for Wyke Coastguard said:

"The vessel, which was on passage from Dover to Falmouth, had been at sea for nearly three days, the solo occupant being very fatigued by the experience."

Weymouth lifeboat were called to by the Solent Coastguard to assist the vessel. They guided the lost boat back to Weymouth Harbour, arriving at 11:50 am.

They were met by Wyke Coastguard, who helped tie the vessel up and offered safety advice to the skipper.
