Man's skull fractured after alleged Weymouth assault

The man in his 30's was allegedly punched to the head outside a nightclub in Weymouth and was treated by an ambulance.

Dorset Police were called at around 5am on Wednesday (4th September) to an assault outside the Rumshack nightclub in Maiden Street.

It's not believed his injuries are life-threatening.

A 28-year-old man from Portland has been arrested under suspicion of inflicting grevious bodily harm with intent and is assisting detectives with their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Simon Austin, of Weymouth CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a man wearing a white top who was seen in the vicinity around the time of the incident."
