Heath fire near Moreton damping down

9 fire crews from across the county were called to two fires in the county. One near Moreton, one at Holton Heath.

Crews from Dorchester, Bridport, Wareham and Hamworthy were called at 1:55pm to a heath fire in Moreton. 

A 25m x 25m patch of heath and gorse was alight near Moreton. 

The fire's believed to be mostly out now, with one crew still on scene damping down the area.

Three fire engines from Wareham and Dorchester were sent to the fire, alongside a Unimog from Wareham and a Land Rover pump from Hamworthy. They were also joined by a water carrier from Bridport.

Holton Heath

3 appliances from Poole are also dealing with a fire in Holton Heath.

Two fire engines and a Land Rover pump from Poole were mobilised; one fire engine is still there for damping down, the stop came at 2.42pm.
