Man released after Weymouth nightclub assault

A man from Portland, arrested in connection with an alleged assault outside a Weymouth nightclub has been released from police bail without charge.

Dorset Police were called at around 5pm on Wednesday 4 September 2019 to a report of an assault outside the Rumshack nightclub in Maiden Street.

The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured skull. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

A 28-year-old Portland man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and was released on police bail. He has now been released from bail without charge and will face no further action.
