Dorset Police investigate reported assault of an elderly woman

Officers investigating a reported assault on a pensioner in Poole say a man has come forward to assist with their investigation.

The incident is said to have happened at 3pm on Thursday 19 September 2019 in Whitecliff Park. 

The victim says she was walking her dog in the park when she witnessed a man beating his dog.

She approached the unknown man and challenged him.

The suspect is said to have held the victim by her throat, forced her to the ground and shouted abuse at her.

An appeal was issued on Friday (27 September ).

A 44-year-old local man has since contacted officers and is assisting with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made.
