Prince of Wales opens new luxury spa in Poundbury

HRH the Prince Charles officially opened the Monart Spa in Poundbury to the public.

An opening ceremony took place at the multi-million pound Monart Spa in Queen Mother Square, Poundbury.

Ben Murphy, Estate Director of The Duchy of Cornwall described it as 'the jewel in the crown' of Queen Mother Square.

The spa features state of the art thermal spaces and a hydrotherapy pool, as well as many other treatments.

It's part of a family run group - Griffin Group - who also run Monart Spa in Ireland as well as two hotels.

Joint owner Liam Anthony Griffin said:

'We are highly experienced at running destination spa's with accommodation, but this is a new concept, a luxury day spa where we see Dorset residents as our guests

They're committed to sourcing products locally and ethically - from the food they serve in their lounge to the treatments they offer.

Light spa food and drinks comes from local Dorset producers, Brace of Butchers, plant based treats from Feed the soul and award winning sparkling wines from Dorchester's Langham wine estate.
