Flood Alert issued for the River Frome

Published by Maria Greenwood at 11:56am 14th November 2019.

We're being warned about possible river flooding around Dorchester and Wareham.

The Environment Agency say river levels remain high at the Stinsford river gauge as a result of recent rainfall.

The current forecast shows minimal rain today (14 November) but conditions are still unsettled and there may be further rain over the next few days.

The Environment Agency say they expect river levels to remain high, and the risk of flooding remains. They are monitoring the situation closely.

Most at risk are tributaries between Dorchester and Wareham.

The advice is to avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
