Purse stolen from woman in her 70's in Weymouth

Dorset Police believe it may be linked to a spate of thefts in various locations around Dorset recently.

The victim, a woman in her 70's was shopping at Lidl in Dorchester Road at around 11am on Thursday 17th October 2019 when her purse was taken from her bag.

Dorset Police have released CCTV footage of two people they would like to talk to.

Following enquiries, officers believe the incident may be linked to similar offences where elderly women have had their purses stolen at various locations around Dorset over the past few months. 

Police Community Support Investigator Graeme Williams, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this purse theft and I am issuing CCTV images of two people we would like to speak to as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone with information as to their identities to please contact us.”
