Weldmar Hospicecare's second Strictly Junior competition has raised £7,000 for the charity.

The event held at Weymouth Pavilion last weekend showcased local youngsters showing off their dance skills.

This year's winner was Evolution Dance Academy from Weymouth, who performed a routine to Sigala's 'Just Got Paid'.

There were seven performances in total, from three local dance schools.

As well as Evolution, there was also Kelci's Dance Academy from Salwayash and Starlight Dance Studio from Weymouth.

The winners were chosen from a combination of the judges scores and votes from the audience.

Matt Smith, Weldmar's Director of Fundraising and Marketing, hosted the show and said:

"We are extremely grateful to all of the schools who took part in our second Strictly Junior event. They have obviously all worked very hard over the past few months to put on a great show for our audience. The confidence and talent that they demonstrated on the night shone through their performances, scoring high marks from the judges and audience alike.

"A massive thank you from everyone at Weldmar to the schools, judges and the audience for supporting our second Junior event - what a show!"

Becky, principal of Evolution Dance Studio said:

"What an honour it was to take part in Weldmar's Strictly Junior event. The opportunity to choreograph and rehearse new routines is of course one that we relish, but also to come together with other local dance schools and fundraiser prior to the event, has been a thrill for all of us.

"Being crowned Strictly Junior Champions was a moment that we shall always remember, and an achievement that we are all so proud of. This was certainly a key moment in our Evolution history!"

Strictly Junior is the sister event to Weldmar's Strictly Ballroom, where 16 local people learn to dance and put on a show at Weymouth Pavilion, with the fifth show scheduled for next year.
